Privacy Policy

You can search jobs on FutureLinked ZA without an account, and we collect nothing personal if that is all you do. Creating an account and using auto-apply does involve personal information, and this is all of it:

• Your account - when you sign in with Google or Microsoft we receive your name, email address and profile picture from that provider. We never see or store your password.
• Your CV - the file you upload and the details we read out of it: skills, work history, education and contact details. The file itself is parsed and deleted; the extracted text is kept so we can match you to jobs and write your applications.
• Your South African ID number, if it appears on your CV or you enter it. Public service posts require a completed Z83 form, which asks for it along with your date of birth, gender and citizenship - all of which are derived from the ID number itself. It is used for that and nothing else.
• Your job preferences - target roles, locations, daily limits and employers you have asked us to avoid.
• Your mailbox connection, if you choose to connect one. See section 5 below, which covers this in full.

We may automatically collect certain technical information when you visit our website, including:

• IP address and browser type
• Device information and operating system
• Pages visited and time spent on pages
• Search queries (to improve our service)
• Referral source (how you found our website)

We aggregate job listings from third-party sources including Adzuna API. When you click "Apply Now" on a job listing, you will be redirected to the employer's website or the job board where the listing originated. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external websites.

We may use Google Analytics or similar services to understand how visitors use our website. These services may use cookies and similar technologies. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We may display advertisements through Google AdSense or similar advertising networks. These networks may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites.

We request exactly one permission: the ability to send email on your behalf (gmail.send for Google, Mail.Send for Microsoft). This permission does not allow reading, and we request no permission that would. We cannot read your inbox, your sent mail, your drafts, or your contacts, and we do not.

We store the email address of the connected mailbox and an access credential (a refresh token) issued by Google or Microsoft. That credential is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it is written to our database, and it is not readable by our web application - only the server that sends your applications can use it. We never receive or store your password.

We use it for one purpose: sending the job applications you have configured, to the employers whose adverts you have been matched to, within the daily limit you set. Every application sent on your behalf is recorded in your account so you can see exactly what went out, to whom, and when.

FutureLinked ZA's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, we do not use Google user data to serve advertising, we do not sell it, we do not transfer it to third parties except as necessary to provide this service or to comply with the law, and we do not allow humans to read it except with your explicit consent, for security purposes, or where required by law.

You can disconnect your mailbox at any time from the Account page, which deletes the stored credential immediately and stops all sending. You can also revoke our access directly from your Google Account permissions page. Deleting your FutureLinked ZA account removes your CV, your extracted profile, your preferences and your mailbox credential.
